What we do
Westbay Concrete Limited is a ready mixed concrete supplier based in Station Road Te Puke. The concrete we supply is independently audited and certified as compliant to NZS3104 and industry best practice. We use locally made HR cement and aggregates are sourced locally, this is a key part of keeping our environmental footprint as low as possible. Concrete is provided for the full range of applications including infrastructure, residential, rural, commercial and industrial.
People
Commencing in late 2018 with 4 full time staff, the local family-owned business has steadily grown now requiring up to 20 full and part time staff. Plant management and concrete manufacturing experience total over 100 years for 5 key staff, additionally some of our concrete delivery drivers have over 30 years industry experience. Extensive industry experience and qualifications mean any specialised concrete requirements can be dealt with in-house engineering resources, providing prompt and efficient solutions.
Manufacturing plant
Our manufacturing plant is made in NZ by Gough Engineering with twin aggregate hoppers and two cement silo’s, Xtra-Cem and low carbon Eco-Cem. Cement handling and dust extraction is via equipment from specialist Italian manufacturer WAM. To ensure concrete consistency and accurate compliance to relevant standards, concrete batching is semi-automated via NZ specialist software companies Excalibur and Unleashed. The plant produces in excess of 60 m3 per hour, this means large single pours over 250m³ have been successfully completed.
Mobile fleet
Hino Euro 5 compliant, 5m³ agitator trucks form the foundation of our trucking fleet. With an average age of less than 3 years old, our 11 agitator trucks combine to deliver significant daily volumes of concrete in a reliable and efficient manner.
